The Tourist Resident Card is a type of honorary resident card, operated by the organization since the end of 2022 to revitalize tourism in regions facing population decline. Currently, it offers various discount benefits in over 300 accommodations, dining, viewing, and experience sectors across 15 regions nationwide, including Pyeongchang-gun, Danyang-gun, and Namwon-si.
This year, up to 25 new regions will be selected by comprehensively reviewing the main benefits of the Tourist Resident Card, the synergy effects with existing participating regions, and the willingness of local governments to participate. Detailed information about the recruitment can be found in the announcement on the Korea Tourism Industry Portal Touraz.
Including the newly selected regions through this recruitment, the organization plans to expand the Tourist Resident Card system to a maximum of 40 regions, enabling tourists to receive various benefits at more than 1,000 tourist sites. This is expected to significantly help revitalize local tourism by increasing the number of residents who stay in the area.
Anyone can obtain the Tourist Resident Card through the Korea Tourism Organization's Korea Travel Easy app and website.
