"Evil Spirits and Mischievous Ghosts, Begone" ... Sanho-dong, Masanhappo-gu Holds Jisinbalgi Ceremony
The Sanho-dong Festival Committee of Masanhappo-gu, Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, held a Jisinbalgi event from the 16th to the 17th, visiting the Sanho-dong Administrative Welfare Center and Sanho Market.
The Jisinbalgi event is a traditional Korean folk game held at the beginning of the year to drive away evil spirits and misfortune, praying for the village's peace, a bountiful harvest, and family happiness.
On the morning of the 16th at 9 a.m., the event began with a prayer ceremony at the Sanho-dong Administrative Welfare Center, followed by a Jisinbalgi tour of nearby institutions and shops. On the 17th, the event continued with visits to Sanho Market and various homes in the district, praying for the residents' well-being, health, and success in all endeavors.
Im Woon-gyu, the festival committee chairman, said, “We prepared the event so that during the two days of Jisinbalgi, the residents of Sanho-dong could come together in harmony and unity. I hope that all residents will have a year full of success and happiness.”
