The play "R&J," a variation of "Romeo and Juliet," opens on the 7th
Dongguk University Lee Haerang Theater until April 28
The performance planning company Shonote announced on the 7th that the play R&J, a variation of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, will open at Dongguk University's Lee Hae-rang Theater.
R&J tells the story of four students at a strict Catholic school who experience a midsummer night's dream-like escape from oppression as they read the banned book Romeo and Juliet.
R&J premiered in New York in 1997 and had its domestic premiere at Lee Hae-rang Theater in 2018. Following performances in 2019 and 2021, this is the fourth season of the play.
Park Jeong-won, Yoo Hyun-seok, and Jeong Hwi play 'Student 1'; Hong Seung-an, Kim Gi-taek, and Hwang Soon-jong play 'Student 2'; Oh Jeong-taek and Han Dong-hoon play 'Student 3'; and Hong Jun-gi and Bae Hoon play 'Student 4'.
