Guus Hiddink, the football coach who led South Korea to the semifinals in the 2002 World Cup, will serve as an ambassador for the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra. The Seoul Philharmonic announced on the 26th that former coach Hiddink has been appointed as an ambassador. The term and specific activities have not yet been decided.

Former coach Hiddink is friends with Yap van Zweden, the music director who began his term this year. When van Zweden received his appointment letter in January last year, Hiddink expressed his desire to serve as an ambassador for the Seoul Philharmonic. Both are from the Netherlands and are involved together in the 'Papageno Foundation.' Yap van Zweden and his wife established this organization in 1997 to support children with autism spectrum disorder.
