Recent 10 Deaths, Fully Committed to Industrial Site Safety
Busan City (Mayor Park Hyung-jun) held an emergency on-site inspection meeting with the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (Chairman Ahn Jong-joo) at 2 p.m. on the 24th to prevent industrial accidents.
The meeting, held at the Busan Regional Headquarters of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, was organized to seek effective preventive measures following the recent occurrence of 10 fatal accidents at industrial sites in the Busan area.
About 10 participants attended the meeting, including the Mayor of Busan, the head of the Busan Employment and Labor Office, the chairman of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, the head of the Busan Regional Headquarters of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, the president of the Busan Employers Federation, and the president of the Construction Association.
On the 24th, at the Busan Regional Headquarters of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, Park Hyung-jun, Mayor of Busan, the head of the Busan Employment and Labor Office, Ahn Jong-joo, Chairman of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, Gong Heung-du, Director of the Busan Regional Headquarters, and others are conducting an urgent on-site inspection meeting for industrial accident prevention.

Additionally, the meeting fostered consensus on ▲the roles of related organizations to revitalize industrial safety governance, ▲the importance of establishing a safety culture that habituates safety, and ▲the responsible role of all members of society as safety and health stakeholders.
Following the inspection meeting, Busan City, the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency visited the construction site of the ‘Oncheon 4 District Housing Redevelopment Project’ for a joint inspection.
The inspection agencies identified difficulties faced at industrial sites and urged caution regarding frequent accident factors occurring in the construction industry, repeatedly emphasizing the need to secure safety.
On the occasion of the ‘On-site Inspection Day,’ the Busan Headquarters of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency and other institutions visited over 70 industrial sites on the 24th, focusing on compliance with safety and health measures related to the three major accidents and eight major risk factors.
Busan City, the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, and other major organizations, agency heads, and public officials are participating in an urgent safety inspection at construction sites.
