Guro-gu (District Mayor Moon Heon-il) is putting all its efforts into revitalizing the local commercial district ahead of the Lunar New Year.
First, on the 30th at 5 PM, the district will issue Guro Love Gift Certificates worth 4 billion KRW. These gift certificates can be used at 10,805 Seoul Pay affiliated stores within Guro-gu and can be purchased at a 5% discount off the face value.
Moreover, 30% of the amount spent can be deducted from income tax during year-end tax settlement, making the certificates sell out quickly upon issuance, receiving a warm response.
The holding limit for Guro Love Gift Certificates is 1.5 million KRW per person. Individuals can purchase up to 500,000 KRW in units of 10,000 KRW. Starting from 5 PM on the 30th, they can buy them with cash or credit cards through five applications: Seoul Pay Plus, Shinhan SOL Bank, Shinhan SOL Pay, T-money Pay, and Moneytree.
Along with this, the district announced that to revitalize alleyway commercial districts and boost the local economy, it has designated and operated three alley-type shopping districts since last year: Gaebong Jungang starting in June, Oryu Beodeul Market in July, and Ground Gocheok in November.
An alley-type shopping district is designated upon application by merchant associations in areas within 2,000㎡ where 30 or more small business-operated stores are densely clustered.
Stores registered as Onnuri Gift Certificate affiliated stores after designation as alley-type shopping districts can use Onnuri Gift Certificates just like traditional markets and receive various benefits such as discounts on gift certificate purchases.
The ‘Guro Ttaenggyeoyo Gift Certificate’ issued on February 1 also offers a 15% discount on purchases up to 100,000 KRW per person per month, providing substantial benefits.
The number of affiliated stores for the public delivery app ‘Ttaenggyeoyo’ increased from 1,130 in December 2022, when it was introduced, to 1,425 in December 2023, and the average order amount rose from 19,858 KRW to 23,818 KRW.
