Dongguk University and Fantagio Hold Script Contest... Winning Entries to Be Produced as Dramas
Dongguk University announced on the 9th that it will hold the Dongguk-Fantagio Drama Script Contest in collaboration with the entertainment company Fantagio.
The contest is open to original creative works, with no participation restrictions based on whether the writer is a newcomer or an established author. However, only writers who are not currently under a writing contract with any broadcasting station or production company are eligible to participate.
The total prize money for the contest is 70 million KRW, with 50 million KRW awarded to one grand prize winner and 20 million KRW to one excellence award winner. The winning works will be produced into dramas through Fantagio.
Participants must submit an application form, a cover page, and a script consisting of at least two episodes (each episode must be at least 30 pages of A4 paper). The application deadline is March 29, and submissions are accepted by email only. The final winners will be selected through judging in April and May, with the announcement in June.

Dongguk University has agreed to receive a portion of Fantagio's profits from secondary creations of the winning drama scripts. Dongguk University explained, "This is a new industry-academia cooperation model based on intellectual property rights, representing a future-oriented virtuous cycle donation form that returns corporate profits to the university."
