'Barbie' Leads Oscar Nominations... Theme Song of 'Fast Lives'

The movie "Barbie," which earned approximately $1.4 billion (1.8177 trillion KRW) worldwide, has been shortlisted as a preliminary nominee in five categories for the 96th Academy Awards (Oscars) to be held next year.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) announced the shortlist of preliminary nominees for 10 categories of the Academy Awards on the 21st (local time).

Directed by Greta Gerwig, "Barbie," considered this year's highest-grossing film, was named in five categories including Best Original Score, Sound, and Original Song. The film depicts what happens when Barbie leaves Barbieland and enters the real world.
Martin Scorsese's "Killers of the Flower Moon" and "Society of the Snow" (directed by Juan Antonio Bayona), the first Spanish film to be nominated, were shortlisted in four categories. Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer" and "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" (directed by Joaquim Dos Santos) were included in three categories.
Photojournalist and filmmaker Mstyslav Chernov's documentary "20 Days in Mariupol," which captures the horrors of the Ukraine war, was shortlisted in the Documentary Feature and International Feature Film categories.
"Fast Lives," co-produced by Hollywood distributor A24 and South Korea's CJ ENM, was nominated in the Original Song category. Directed by Korean-Canadian director Celine Song and starring actors including Yoo Tae-oh, it was previously nominated in five categories at the 81st Golden Globe Awards and three categories at the 29th Critics' Choice Awards.

The Academy Awards ceremony will be held on March 10 next year at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles (LA), USA. The final nominees will be announced on the 23rd of next month.
