MFDS Wins Silver at 'Korea Advertising Awards' and 'PR of the Year Awards'
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced on the 5th that the 'Safe Sound Campaign,' conducted with public participation, won silver awards in the audio category at the '2023 Korea Advertising Awards' and in the government and public institution PR category at the '2023 Advertising PR of the Year Awards.'
The Safe Sound Campaign was an event held since February through the Ministry's social media (SNS), collecting public comments on sounds made when protecting food and drug safety in daily life. From over 1,400 comments, the Ministry selected seven sounds, including the 'ppung' sound when opening a sealed lid, the 'soksoksok' sound when washing ingredients, and the 'jigeuljigeul' sound when cooking meat.
Since May, videos creatively expressing the seven sounds have been distributed. In June, a public certification challenge was also conducted to increase public interest and encourage daily practice.
Oh Yu-kyung, Commissioner of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, said, "This award is especially meaningful because the campaign was completed through public participation. As many citizens found and participated with various food and drug safety sounds in daily life, it enabled a unique communication activity."
