Woods: "Once a Month Participation Is Best Next Year"
Hero World Challenge Official Press Conference Unveiled
Genesis, The Players, Masters Starting February
‘Golf Emperor’ Tiger Woods (USA) is expected to appear on the field every month next year.
On the 28th (local time), at the official press conference for the PGA Tour’s ‘special event’ Hero World Challenge (total prize money $3.5 million) held at Albany Golf Course (par 72, 7,449 yards) in New Providence, Bahamas, Woods said, "I think the best and ideal scenario is to participate in a tournament once a month next year," adding, "Probably the Genesis Invitational in February will be the first tournament." He also revealed plans to participate in one more tournament just before The Players Championship in March. After The Players Championship, he is expected to compete in the season’s first major tournament, the Masters, in April.
Woods will make his comeback at the Hero World Challenge, which opens on the 30th. This will be his first tournament appearance in seven months since withdrawing from the Masters major tournament in April. Afterward, Woods underwent surgery on his right ankle and focused on rehabilitation. Since the surgery, he has shown his swing several times and served as a caddie at a tournament where his son Charlie participated. Woods said, "There is no pain at the surgical site. The ankle condition is good."

Viktor Hovland (Norway), ranked 4th in the world, will attempt a three-peat. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, No. 7 Max Homa (both USA), and No. 8 Matthew Fitzpatrick (England) have also joined.
