"A single grain of justice that changes the world" pledge
Former Blue House administrative officer Choi Chi-hyun (Chairman of the nonprofit organization ‘Hamkke;Majung’) will hold a book launch event for his handwritten book A Grain of Justice Changes the World at 3 p.m. on December 2 at Nambu University.
A Grain of Justice Changes the World is a collection of handwritten writings by Chairman Choi, who enjoys writing good words and phrases in his own handwriting style called Gombaechae. The book gathers words and writings engraved in his heart through communication with the world, as well as conversations with acquaintances.
The book launch event will be an opportunity to candidly introduce the perspective and communication attitude of the person Choi Chi-hyun toward the world.
The event will be hosted by professional MC Kwak Gwi-geun, and will feature pre-celebration performances by the band Prologue and the male vocal group ‘Cross4Men’.
Choi Sung-sik, the vocalist of band Prologue, is a singer-songwriter who turned the poem Between People? To Chi-hyun?written by poet Shin Dong-ho, who was a speech aide to President Moon Jae-in and expressed affection for Choi?into a song. He will perform this piece at the book launch event.
In particular, reflecting former administrative officer Choi’s well-known wide and strong network, including his longtime friendship with national marathoner Lee Bong-ju, a large number of figures from various sectors such as local and central political circles, civil society, and culture and arts are expected to attend.
Former administrative officer Choi has been active across local democratic and social organizations, local governments, the Blue House, and the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, among other central government bodies. Through these experiences and working with the Gwangju Spirit to overcome current crises and draw future blueprints, he is establishing his place among the citizens.
On the 23rd, he held a policy discussion forum titled Changing the Future of Gwangsan, presenting a blueprint for coexistence in Honam through the Gwangju Spirit and the future vision of Gwangsan, actively contributing to regional development.
Former Blue House administrative officer Choi Chi-hyun said, “Just as a single seed grows into a tree and forms a forest, I have captured in handwriting the words and phrases engraved in my heart as I communicate with the world to become a grain of justice that changes the world. This book launch event is a moment to reaffirm that commitment.”
Meanwhile, former administrative officer Choi studied at Gwangju University and Korea University, and has worked as a progressive activist in unification and human rights movements, serving as president of the student council at Gwangju University and secretary-general of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Conscience Prisoners Support Association.
He has held positions such as head of the Open Civil Complaints Office in Gwangsan District during the 5th and 6th local governments, Blue House administrative officer under the Moon Jae-in administration, policy aide to the Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, and political special advisor directly under presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung. He gained a reputation as an expert in conflict resolution and mediation, addressing various social conflicts including labor and environmental issues.

As a leading figure of the 1970s generation, Choi grew from the local level and proved his capabilities in national government and central ministries. He has served as director of the Together Gwangju Research Institute and vice chairman of the Democratic Party’s Strategic Planning Committee. Currently, he is vice chairman of the Democratic Party’s Gwangju Metropolitan City branch, actively engaging in regional activities to accompany and empathize with local residents.
