Kim Oksu, Gwangju Seo-gu Council Member, Proposes Ordinance to Expand No-Smoking Zones
Kim Oksu, a member of the Gwangju Metropolitan City Seo-gu Council, announced on the 28th that the 'Partial Amendment to the Ordinance on Creating a Smoke-Free Environment and Secondhand Smoke' was passed in the relevant standing committee.
The ordinance includes a provision that allows designating areas within 5 meters from the boundary line where crosswalks and sidewalks meet as smoke-free zones.
Councilor Kim said, “We have established a foundation to minimize residents' secondhand smoke damage and to activate smoking cessation activities.”
He added, “We will continue to maintain constant interest and efforts to prevent residents from secondhand smoke damage and to promote residents' health.”
