[Concall] Kakao Games "Kakao VX Emergency Management... Considering Withdrawal from Underperforming Businesses"
Kakao Games has begun streamlining the management of its non-gaming subsidiaries, Kakao VX and Senatechnology.
Jo Hyuk-min, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Kakao Games, stated during the Q3 earnings conference call on the 8th, "Kakao VX is focusing on reducing fixed costs through emergency management and is prioritizing management efficiency until early next year." Kakao VX is a golf business affiliate.
He also said, "We are reorganizing our business portfolio, concentrating on core businesses, and making decisions to downsize or withdraw from businesses that are difficult to monetize or expand profits."
CFO Jo added, "The main revenue source, screen golf, continues to face concerns over economic uncertainty. Although the golf reservation platform ranks first in traffic domestically, we are carefully reviewing the monetization aspect due to the nature of the platform. A new screen golf product is expected to be released soon, and we are also exploring overseas markets."
The company plans to focus on profitability management of Senatechnology, a global sports communication company.

CFO Jo said, "Senatechnology's market is mostly in Europe, and while preparing for the Chinese market to accelerate growth, we are adjusting the pace and focusing on cost management to improve profitability. The rebound timing for Senatechnology depends on consumer sentiment in the North American and European markets, but we do not consider profitability management to be a major concern."
