Gyeonggi Fire Department Holds 'Firefighting Day' Event on the 1st... Also Hosts Firefighting Arts Festival

View original imageThe Gyeonggi Provincial Fire and Disaster Headquarters held the '61st Firefighters' Day Commemoration Ceremony and the 1st Gyeonggi Firefighting Arts Festival' at Gyeonggi University Convention Center on the 1st.
At the Firefighters' Day ceremony (Part 1), the Provincial Fire and Disaster Headquarters held an awards ceremony for the '10 Individuals (Groups) Who Shined in Gyeonggi Firefighting' and also presented the Gyeonggi Provincial Council Chairman's Commendation to seven contributors to firefighting development.
Additionally, Firefighter Yoon Jung-heon of Namyangju Fire Station, who won three gold medals in cycling at the Hangzhou Asian Para Games, received a special award. Following this, a congratulatory performance was held, including a video of the top 10 major achievements of this year and a demonstration stage by the Gyeonggi Firefighting Honor Guard, which was launched earlier this year.
In Part 2, the 1st Gyeonggi Firefighting Arts Festival took place, featuring 12 teams that passed the preliminary round from various firefighting organizations' art clubs. They showcased their hidden talents and skills through choir, band, dance, puppet shows, and Samulnori (traditional Korean percussion ensemble). As a result of the judging, the '119 Carat' choir team from Bucheon Fire Station won the prestigious Grand Prize.
As a side event, the Provincial Fire and Disaster Headquarters held the unveiling ceremony of the 'Warm Companion Gyeonggi 119' Love Temperature Tower, attended by officials including representatives from the Community Chest of Korea.
'Warm Companion Gyeonggi 119' is a representative love-sharing campaign of Gyeonggi Firefighting, where Gyeonggi Province firefighters and volunteer firefighters voluntarily contribute 119 won daily to help neighbors in need.
Out of this year's target amount of 230 million won, 210 million won has been raised, achieving 95% of the goal. Starting with the unveiling ceremony, Gyeonggi Firefighting plans to conduct a campaign targeting all residents to raise 500 million won by 2024.

Gyeonggi Governor Kim Dong-yeon, currently on a business trip to China, promised through a congratulatory video from the local site, "The morale of firefighters is directly linked to the safety of residents, and we will support the firefighting family so they can work with pride."
