Gyeongbuk Office of Education Launches '2028 College Admission Support Strategy Research Group' with 9 Admission Experts Participating
The Gyeongbuk Office of Education launched the ‘2028 College Admission Support Strategy Research Group’ to respond to the ‘2028 College Admission System Reform Draft’ announced by the Ministry of Education on the 10th.
The purpose of the ‘2028 College Admission Support Strategy Research Group’ is to analyze the impact of the ‘2028 College Admission System Reform Draft’ on university admissions and high school curricula, prepare proposal opinions on the final confirmed plan, and simultaneously establish response strategies.

View original imageThe research group is composed of nine members, including Park Byung-wook, principal of Chilgok Seokjeok High School as the chairperson, college admission supervisors from the Gyeongbuk Office of Education, research officers from the Gyeongbuk Admission Support Center, admission experts active in the Gyeongbuk Admission Support Team, and high school subject teachers.
A representative from the Gyeongbuk Office of Education stated, “The main points of the 2028 college admission system reform draft announced by the Ministry of Education include maintaining the nine-level grading system for the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT), relative evaluation with five levels for high school internal grades, an integrated CSAT without elective subjects, and strengthening descriptive and essay-type questions in school evaluations. In line with this plan, the research group was launched with the intention of preparing customized strategies for current middle school first and second graders.”
At the first meeting of the research group held at the Gyeongbuk Office of Education on the 23rd, the focus was on analyzing the Ministry of Education’s college admission system reform draft and press releases, analyzing field opinions collected in advance regarding the draft, establishing the direction for the research group’s operation and setting research tasks, and concretizing support measures for the field by the research group.
In particular, on that day, a ‘2028 College Admission System Reform Draft Explanation Session’ was held online (streamed on YouTube) for middle school first and second graders and their parents in the Gyeongbuk area, with over 2,300 parents participating through prior registration, demonstrating swift action to support the education field regarding the college admission system reform.
