View original imageOn the 24th, President Yoon Suk-yeol said this in a congratulatory message at the opening of the '2023 Women Leaders Forum' held at the Crystal Ballroom of Lotte Hotel in Sogong-dong. He stated, "As super-large AI rapidly spreads into industries and daily life, the roles and leadership of women are required in various fields such as technology development, talent cultivation, and norm establishment." President Yoon emphasized the need to create an environment where women can demonstrate leadership well in the era of super-large AI. He added, "We will support more women to challenge new technologies and new industries and create new value, while striving to establish a corporate environment where work and life can be balanced."
Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, who attended the forum themed 'Super-large AI Era - Women Change the World,' said in his congratulatory speech, "Technological innovation and the AI era will present new opportunities for women entrepreneurs," and added, "The transition to an advanced technology-centered industrial structure and the diversity of work styles such as flexible work and telecommuting will bring significant changes to women's participation in economic activities." He also stated, "Activating women's employment will be a great driving force to increase our economy's productivity and vitality," and pledged, "We will support women's growth and improve the culture of inequality and discrimination to break the glass ceiling in our society."

View original imageSeoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, in his congratulatory speech, said, "The AI era brings changes and new opportunities to our society, and based on these opportunities, we must create a country where women do not hesitate to take on challenges and can maximize their capabilities, and a country that produces diverse women leaders." He emphasized, "In a situation where labor shortages are expected to worsen due to demographic changes, how to utilize talented women who had to leave the labor market despite their abilities and potential will be directly linked to the competitiveness of the nation and companies."
Kim Hyun-sook, Minister of Gender Equality and Family, who attended as the presenter of the Asia Gender Equality Index Award encouraging companies actively building gender-equal organizational cultures, said, "Active participation of women talents in new technology fields where digital transformation is in full swing and leading innovation is the best way to quantitatively and qualitatively enhance women's economic activities and continuously expand human capital, thereby increasing the nation's growth potential."
Hyun Sang-soon, Chairman of Asia Economy, said in his opening remarks, "Super-large AI is not just a simple phenomenon but is causing unimaginable great transformations in all fields including economy, industry, politics, and education. Therefore, the perspective and wisdom of women’s leadership are urgently needed to analyze the super-large AI phenomenon and find solutions to various side effects." He emphasized, "The Women Leaders Forum annually discovers Korean or Korean-descendant women leaders active domestically and internationally through 'Power K-Women,' and these leaders will serve as a platform where the next generation of women leaders who will lead Korean society emerge abundantly like a fountain."

The Women Leaders Forum was launched in 2012 as the first international conference in Korea themed on women’s leadership. This year’s theme of the Women Leaders Forum is 'Super-large AI Era - Women Change the World.' It explored the roles and directions for women amid the massive wave of the AI revolution. Additionally, Asia Economy selected and announced women leaders from various fields at home and abroad as 'Power K-Women.' Through these Power K-Women, a hopeful message was delivered that all kinds of discrimination and barriers can be overcome and new value can be created. The event also featured discussions on women’s leadership needed in the AI era, secrets to growing as Power K-Women, and the system of female outside directors.
