Eunpyeong-gu Selected as an 'Excellent Institution for National Happiness Civil Service' by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety
Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced on the 23rd that it has been selected as an excellent institution in the ‘2023 National Happiness Civil Service Office’ evaluation hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and will receive the ‘Minister of the Interior and Safety Award.’
The ‘National Happiness Civil Service Office’ is a system in which the Ministry of the Interior and Safety selects and certifies outstanding civil service offices based on the internal and external environment and civil service quality of administrative agencies nationwide, including local governments, city and provincial education offices, tax offices, and police stations. Selection is made through a comprehensive evaluation including document review, on-site inspection, and civil service satisfaction surveys.
Eunpyeong-gu has been selected as a newly certified institution for the ‘2023 National Happiness Civil Service Office’ and will operate under this certification. The certification period is from next month until December 2026.
The district currently operates convenience facilities for civil service users at the entrance of the civil service office, including ▲a resident rest area ▲a sharing caf? ▲a small library ▲a health check corner ▲computers for civil service users ▲and fax machines. This year, the civil service space was efficiently rearranged, and improvements were made to the environment such as lighting work, floor tile work, attachment of civil service guidance lines, and installation of automatic doors.
Efforts to improve civil service included operating counters considerate of socially vulnerable groups, installing two-way microphones for communication with civil service users, providing civil service guide braille booklets, foreign language civil service forms, assigning civil service guides, introducing portable protective equipment, forming an emergency response team, and conducting mock drills, all of which received favorable evaluations.
