Jeonnam Provincial Council, Closing of the 375th Extraordinary Session
The Jeonnam Provincial Council held its 2nd plenary session on the 20th to conclude the 375th extraordinary session.
During the plenary session, a total of 70 agenda items were processed, including 30 ordinances and 24 consent items reviewed by each standing committee. Additionally, 30 original and revised ordinances such as the "Basic Ordinance on Low Birthrate Countermeasures," "Ordinance on Support for Indoor Children's Play Facilities," and "Ordinance on Support for Automobile Inspection Fees for Persons with Disabilities" were approved as originally proposed.
Five proposals were adopted, including "Urging Measures to Expand Special Education Teachers to Strengthen the Learning Rights of Special Education Students," "Urging the Establishment of Standards for Pesticide Use and Residual Pesticide Limits at Golf Courses," "Urging the Preparation of Agricultural Protection Measures Against the Climate Crisis," "Urging a Complete Ban on Imports of Japanese Seafood and Seafood Processed Products," and "Urging the Establishment of Jeonnam Medical School and the Introduction of a Regional Doctor System."
During the 5-minute free speeches, Assemblywoman Oh Mihwa demanded special measures from Jeonnam Province regarding the soaring agricultural production costs, and Assemblyman Lee Cheol called for measures to improve the medical system in Cheongsan-myeon, Wando.
Assemblyman Im Jirak urged proactive administration for the post-management of drug users in Jeonnam Province, and Assemblyman Shin Minho called for the expansion and reorganization of the pan-provincial promotion committee for the establishment of a national medical school in Jeollanam-do.
