Ulsan Volunteer Fire Brigade Hosts 'Hanmaeum Firefighting Skills Competition'
Fire Hose Dragging and Water Bucket Carrying Harmony Competition
The Ulsan Fire Headquarters (Chief Lee Jae-soon) will hold the "2023 23rd Ulsan City Volunteer Fire Brigade Unity Firefighting Skills Competition" at 10 a.m. on the 19th at the Munsu International Archery Field.
The Unity Firefighting Skills Competition is held annually to improve the physical fitness and on-site response capabilities of volunteer firefighters and to promote harmony among members.
The event will be attended by about 1,800 volunteer firefighters, including Ulsan Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom.
The competition will feature firefighting skills contests such as fire hose dragging, fire hose deployment and retrieval, and personal equipment wearing relay, as well as harmony contests like tug-of-war and water bucket carrying.

Fire Chief Lee Jae-soon said, "This is a meaningful event where volunteer firefighters active in Ulsan come together in one place," adding, "I hope the friendly competition among fire stations will become a time to foster camaraderie among members."
