UK Acapella Group 'Kings Singers' Visit Korea for Disney 100th Anniversary Concert
Performances in Jinju on the 19th, Gwangju on the 20th, and Seoul on the 22nd
The authentic British a cappella group 'The King's Singers' will meet domestic fans with a special concert commemorating Disney's 100th anniversary.
According to the performance planning company Mast Media on the 16th, The King's Singers will perform at the Seoul Arts Center in Seocho-gu, Seoul on the 22nd. Prior to this, they will take the stage at the Gyeongnam Culture and Arts Center on the 19th and the National Asian Culture Complex in Gwangju on the 20th.
This concert is based on three albums released this year. One was released to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the deaths of two Renaissance composers, Thomas Wilkes and William Byrd, who are indispensable in The King's Singers' repertoire. Another album, 'Wonderland,' commemorates pieces commissioned from the greatest modern composers by The King's Singers. Additionally, the album 'When You Wish Upon a Star,' celebrating Walt Disney's 100th anniversary, is included to present a rich program.
In the first part of the concert, The King's Singers will convey the traditional form of a cappella they pursue and their accumulated musical heritage through refined harmonies. In the second part, they will perform Disney music such as 'Dumbo,' 'Aladdin,' 'The Lion King,' 'Coco,' and 'Pinocchio.' Adding The King's Singers' British wit and tone, they plan to offer a time as if stepping into a fairy tale.
The King's Singers have solidified their status as the top a cappella group, loved by people worldwide. They have released over 150 albums to date and have won Grammy Awards, Emmy Awards, and have been inducted into the Gramophone Classical Hall of Fame.
The six members, united by their passion for a cappella, manage busy schedules with over 100 performances annually while spreading the charm of a cappella through various workshops and lectures.
