Jeongeup-si 'Book Reading Marathon Competition' Successfully Concludes... 102 Participants Complete
The Library Business Office of Jeongeup City, Jeonbuk, has concluded the '7th Book Reading Marathon,' which was held over eight months to promote library use and create a city culture of reading.
According to the city on the 13th, the Book Reading Marathon is a citizen-wide reading campaign that combines reading and marathon running by converting one page of a book into 2 meters and completing the reading course one has challenged.
A total of 277 participants joined this event, with 102 completing the course.
Among them, five outstanding finishers were awarded the Jeongeup Mayor's Prize, and five excellent students received the Jeongeup Office of Education Superintendent's Prize.
A citizen who completed the marathon said, "I felt it was good because the event helped foster a culture of reading and develop healthy reading habits."
Mayor Lee Hak-su stated, "I hope that through this event, many citizens have cultivated a culture of reading and benefited in their self-development," adding, "We will continue to strive to promote a reading culture."
