Lawsuit Against Marriage Agency That Placed 'Medical Association Together' Ad Requiring 550,000 Won Entry Fee and Doctors Under 45
Recruiting Doctors with Women's Faces Revealed
A marriage information company recruited doctors to attend matchmaking events by claiming to represent the Korean Medical Association (KMA), but the KMA has completely denied any connection and launched a strong response.
On the 6th, the KMA announced that it had filed a complaint with the Supreme Prosecutors' Office on charges of obstruction of business and fraud.
The marriage information company promoted an event named "Doctors Match Day with the Korean Medical Association." The "Korean Medical Association" logo was also prominently displayed on the promotional materials.
The event was described as arranging meetings between unmarried doctors or dentists under the age of 45 and women.
The second image listed "Information on Female Participants" and specifically showed photos and occupations of 15 women. The participation fee was 550,000 KRW.
The association stated that it would take legal action against the private company for recruiting participants from doctors while promoting the event as if it had a business agreement or affiliation with the KMA.
The KMA claimed that the marriage information company’s promotion, implying cooperation with the association, damaged the honor of its members.
