In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump stated, "He (Jordan) will be a great Speaker of the House and has my full and complete support."
He added, "He takes a tough stance on crime, the border, the military and veterans, and the Second Amendment," and said, "Jim, his wife Polly, and his family are outstanding people." The Second Amendment is a provision that legalizes gun ownership for Americans, stating that "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed."
Earlier, the U.S. Congress fell into turmoil after former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, a Republican, was ousted on the 3rd due to a rebellion by hardline Republicans close to Trump. This is the first time in U.S. congressional history that a Speaker of the House has been removed.
