'Overseas Player' Park Sung-hyun "Set to Compete in October Hite Jinro Championship"

‘Overseas player’ Park Sung-hyun (photo) will participate in the last major domestic tournament.
The Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour HiteJinro Championship Organizing Committee announced on the 26th, "Park Sung-hyun has been invited to the HiteJinro Championship (total prize money 1.2 billion KRW), which will be held for four days from October 5 at Blue Herron Golf Club in Yeoju, Gyeonggi-do (par 72, 6,763 yards)." Park Sung-hyun also participated as a recommended player in this tournament last year and finished tied for 3rd place. Park Sung-hyun’s last KLPGA Tour victory was at the Hanwha Classic in September 2016, just before she moved on to the LPGA Tour.
Park Sung-hyun said, "I am excited and looking forward to participating in the HiteJinro Championship again this year," adding, "I want to repay with more impressive play and good results." She continued, "Blue Herron is a difficult course, but my condition is improving, and I have memories of good performance from last year’s tournament," expressing confidence by saying, "If I pay a little more attention to putting, I believe I can play well."

Park Sung-hyun debuted on the KLPGA Tour in 2014 and has accumulated a total of 10 wins, including one major victory. After winning three times in 2015, she dominated the domestic stage by sweeping seven wins in 2017. Park achieved the feat of winning both the LPGA Tour Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year awards in 2017 and claimed the world No. 1 ranking. However, since her seventh LPGA Tour win at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship in June 2019, she has not won again. Her best result this year was tied for 39th place at the ShopRite LPGA Classic in June.
