Jangseong-gun Provides Financial Support to Residents Affected by House Fire
Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 20th that it will provide financial aid to residents affected by house fires.
Previously, the county took swift action by establishing the "Jangseong-gun Fire Damage Resident Support Ordinance" and securing a budget for damage support through supplementary budgeting.
The support targets residents registered in Jangseong-gun who actually reside in houses damaged by fire, limited to buildings recognized as detached houses or apartment buildings under the Building Act.
The amount of support varies depending on the extent of house damage. Full destruction (70% or more) receives up to 5 million KRW, half destruction (30-70%) up to 3 million KRW, and partial destruction (10-30%) up to 2 million KRW.
To apply for the support, applicants must submit the fire certificate issued by the competent fire station and the application form along with other required documents to the administrative welfare center of their residential eup/myeon within 30 days from the date the fire was extinguished.
However, those who have already received support under other laws or ordinances, received fire insurance payouts, live in vacant houses or buildings violating laws, or have minor damage are excluded from the support.
For more details, inquiries can be made to the Disaster Safety Division of the county office.
County Governor Kim Han-jong said, "Through the establishment of financial aid for residents affected by house fires, we hope to provide some help to the affected citizens," adding, "We will continue to discover and expand policies that support the safe lives of our residents."
