World's First K-Content Specialized FAST Platform Launched
Among the international FAST channels on major U.S. FAST platforms, excluding English and Spanish, the number increased nearly threefold from 39 to 116 earlier this year, with Korean content accounting for the largest share. The company operating the most international FAST channels in the U.S. is New ID, an in-house venture of the content media group NEW (Next Entertainment World). FAST is an ad-supported free live streaming channel. The global media specialist outlet Variety revealed this information in its August issue VIP+ report titled "The Growth Background of International FAST Content."
According to Variety's report, New ID has emerged as a frontrunner in quickly delivering K-content to the global market. In addition to genre-specific channels such as New K-Movies, New K-Pop, and New K-Food, it operates more than eight FAST channels on major U.S. platforms in collaboration with companies like The Pinkfong Company, YG Entertainment, Rakuten Viki, OnDemand China, and Mubit.
