'Golden Ryeong Donghaeng Festival' Opens in Daegu... Supporting Small Business Owners
Donghaeng Festival Runs Until the 27th
Exhibition of Small and Medium Enterprise and Small Business Products on Dongseong-ro Street
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 4th that it held the opening ceremony of the ‘Hwanggeumnyeok Donghaeng Festival’ on Daegu’s Dongseong-ro street. This event marked the official opening of the Donghaeng Festival, which runs from the 30th of last month until the 27th of this month, and was organized to support small and medium enterprises and small business owners.
Minister Lee Young of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced the 2023 Hwanggeumnyeok Donghaeng Festival promotion plan on the 23rd of last month at the Government Seoul Office Annex.

The opening ceremony began with a cheering performance for small business owners by the BISA cheering squad from Keimyung University located in Daegu. Following this, a special video promoting Daegu as a city of fashion and textiles was screened, and the opening performance by ‘Ravidance,’ the promotional model for the Donghaeng Festival, took place.
At the ‘Donghaeng Fashion Show,’ prepared through the combined efforts of Daegu companies and citizens, leading Daegu designer brands ‘SANGMIN,’ ‘ISDEEP,’ and ‘MWM’ showcased a variety of outfits. Models from Daekyung University, students, and senior models from the Daegu Fashion Association took to the runway.
Before the opening ceremony, small and medium enterprise and small business products were exhibited along Dongseong-ro street in the morning. At the Dog Parking booth, a promotional campaign was conducted in collaboration with the Korea Kennel Club to install dog hooks inside Dongseong-ro shopping district stores to increase the influx of pet owners.
At the Daegu city flea market and Donghaeng Street booths, exhibitions and promotions of Daegu local companies and Donghaeng Festival products continued, along with tasting and sales of century-old store meal kits. Simultaneously, sales broadcasts were conducted at the public shopping live broadcast booth.
A win-win booth was jointly operated by Starbucks and the Cafe Cooperative, where general citizens who brought reusable cups could taste the free ‘Okcheon Sweet Pumpkin Latte’ win-win beverage.
