Kakao ESG Report Receives Top Grade at Global Competition
Kakao announced on the 30th that its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) report titled "Kakao's Promise and Responsibility 2022," published last May, has won the highest honors?Gold Award and Grand Prize?at the global sustainability management report competitions, the ARC Awards (Annual Report Competition Awards 2023) and the LACP Vision Award, respectively.
The ARC Awards is the world's largest annual report competition organized by MerComm, a U.S.-based corporate communications evaluation firm. Kakao received the highest Gold Award in two categories within the 'Interactive Annual Report' division: 'ESG Report' and 'Sustainability Report Asia-Pacific.' Kakao is the only Korean company to win in these categories. In the 'Sustainability Report Asia-Pacific' category, Kakao achieved this honor for the second consecutive year following 2022.
Kakao's ESG efforts were also recognized at the Vision Awards hosted by the marketing research organization LACP. Since 2001, the LACP Vision Awards have annually evaluated sustainability management reports and annual reports published by corporations and organizations worldwide, with participation from over 1,000 companies and institutions globally. Kakao won the Grand Prize in the 'ESG Report' category and the Gold Award in the 'Sustainability Report' category for two consecutive years in the 'Telecommunications Industry' sector, placing it among the top 100 global companies.
Both organizations highly praised Kakao's 2022 ESG report for faithfully reflecting message clarity, information accessibility, user convenience, creative design, and financial information.

Yook Sim-na, Head of Kakao's ESG Business Office, stated, "This is the result of our efforts to clearly communicate the value and responsibility Kakao aims to provide to society to our stakeholders, while transparently disclosing and sharing whether our social commitments are being properly fulfilled." She added, "We will continue to do our best to engage with society and ensure that Kakao's ESG activities contribute to building a sustainable society."
