Seo Bong-su 9-dan has broken the record for the most professional matches played (2,810 games).
On the 25th, Seo Bong-su lost by resignation to Lee Seong-jae 9-dan in the first round of the senior preliminary of the 2023 Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance World Baduk Masters held at the Korea Baduk Association in Seongdong-gu, Seoul.
Playing his 2,811th professional match, Seo Bong-su surpassed Cho Hun-hyun (2,810 games) to set a new record for the most matches played in Korea.
Seo Bong-su was the first among domestic professional players to reach 1,000 matches in 1987, while Cho Hun-hyun was the first to reach 2,000 matches in 2000.
Seo Bong-su's career record stands at 1,765 wins, 3 draws, and 1,043 losses, with a winning percentage of 62.85%.
