Daesang Cheongjeongwon Homings Launches 'Napjak Basak Mandu' to Enjoy with Sauce
Daesang Cheongjeongwon's convenient meal brand ‘Home:ings’ announced on the 22nd the launch of ‘Napjak Basak Mandu,’ featuring a crispy and chewy texture and a spicy-sweet flavor from a special sauce.
Cheongjeongwon is expanding its convenient meal dumpling lineup by adding ‘Napjak Basak Mandu’ to its existing series of Jip Mandu, Basak Mandu, and Mul Mandu.
As the name suggests, Napjak Mandu is a dumpling that is thinly wrapped with a thin skin and filled lightly with ingredients such as glass noodles and chive, then pan-fried flat. Cheongjeongwon introduced this new product so that consumers can easily enjoy Napjak Mandu, which was mainly eaten with dishes like tteokbokki and jjolmyeon at restaurants, at home.
The new Napjak Basak Mandu features a strengthened dumpling skin to make the skin more delicious. Corn flour, glutinous rice flour, and potato starch are mixed in a golden ratio to create a crispy and chewy texture, while onion and garlic flakes add a savory and rich umami flavor.
The included special sauce enhances the taste even more. The sauce has a spicy-sweet flavor with sweetness from apple and a subtle garlic aroma, and can be poured over or used as a dip according to preference. Unlike traditional fried dumplings, these thin and flat dumplings can be cooked in a frying pan for just 1 to 2 minutes, and are also great to enjoy with various dishes such as tteokbokki and jjolmyeon.
