Incheon City Attracts 5,000 School Trip Students...Rich Content Including 'History Education Stamp Tour'
Visits from elementary, middle, and high school field trips and school excursion groups to Incheon continue. The Incheon Tourism Organization announced on the 17th that it has attracted more than 5,000 school excursion participants through various promotional marketing utilizing historical and cultural tourism resources.
Since April, the organization has been providing incentives to travel agencies that attract school excursion groups and has produced and distributed the "Incheon School Excursion Guidebook." Additionally, it established an "Integrated School Excursion Information Desk" to provide customized information to each school and supports bus rental fees for each school.
As of the end of July, a total of 5,053 people from 69 schools, including those from Seoul, Gyeonggi, Jeonnam, and Jeju, outside of Incheon, have visited or booked visits to Incheon for field trips and school excursions. Students visiting the Gaehangjang area experienced unique activities such as virtual reality (AR·VR) experiences through the "Incheon-eji" app, ghost docent and time travel tours, and the Gaehang-eji electric car tour. The organization expects the number of schools applying to increase as there is ongoing demand and inquiries for 1-night, 2-day trips in addition to day field trips.
In the second semester, Incheon school excursion content will become even richer. First, students can participate in a "Historical Education Stamp Tour" in Gaehangjang and Chinatown. By visiting four locations, including the Qing-Japanese Concession stairs, using the "Incheon-eji" app, stamps are automatically collected, and upon completion, beverage coupons redeemable at nearby affiliated stores are issued.
Customized content for exam takers will also be prepared. Experience programs such as a stamp tour linked with the National Museum of World Writing Systems and guided alley tours of the old downtown area will be offered for students who have completed the college entrance exam. Various benefits will be provided to participants to enhance student satisfaction and revitalize the local commercial district.
