Olympus Korea Named 'Top Work-Life Balance' Company
Global medical company Olympus Korea recently announced on the 17th that it was selected as the company with the best work-life balance, so-called 'Wolrabal,' among the best companies to work for in the first half of 2023 by the corporate information platform Job Planet.
Job Planet selected the 'best companies to work for' based on satisfaction scores in six categories?overall satisfaction, salary and welfare, work-life balance, corporate culture, promotion opportunities and possibilities, and management?targeting companies with a certain number of reviews from domestic office workers in the first half of this year to ensure objectivity.
Among these, Olympus Korea ranked first in the work-life balance category among all companies. Employees cited the freedom to use annual leave and the active implementation of remote work as advantages in their reviews of Olympus Korea.
Olympus Korea operates various systems to help employees harmoniously balance family and work life. It has received certification as a family-friendly company by meeting standards in various areas, including compliance with family-friendly certification legal requirements, utilization and return rates of parental leave, employment retention rates after pre- and post-childbirth leave, usage rates of reduced working hours during pregnancy, utilization rates of annual leave and flexible working systems, and implementation of family-friendly related programs.
Additionally, the company operates a 'Golden Week' system, designating the week including its founding anniversary on October 1st as paid leave, allowing employees to enjoy a long vacation of nine days including the weekends before and after. Olympus Korea encourages 100% use of annual leave, flexible working hours, and a four-day remote work week, sparing no effort to support employees in fully recharging by separating work from personal life. Due to its establishment of a healthy corporate culture, it was also selected as a '2022 Family-Friendly Certified' company by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family in December last year.
Naoki Okada, CEO of Olympus Korea, said, "I believe the most important value of a good company to work for is work-life balance," adding, "We will continue to make efforts to maintain a corporate culture that values Wolrabal."
