I became deeply depressed and had almost no motivation.” In particular, she said, “Because I wasn’t eating properly, I lost 7 kilograms in less than two weeks,” adding, “Even in my depression, I didn’t like that the muscles I had built up through physical labor and exercise were disappearing.” She continued, “That’s why I decided to do a body profile photo shoot as a project to overcome my depression,” and explained, “If I paid money to book a studio, I thought I wouldn’t give up working out just because I was feeling down.”
Regarding this photo shoot, Ryu said, “I’m still a novice carpenter, but I took the photos based on the work I’m currently doing,” and added, “I had been using my profile photos from my time as a National Assembly member, but now I think it would be good to change them.” However, she also mentioned that preparing for the body profile was not easy. She said, “I cut down on carbohydrates to lose body fat, but that made me too weak to work,” and added, “I don’t think I could do a body profile shoot a second time.” She also remarked, “When there’s a lot of work, you have to eat enough soup and rice to avoid injuries and stay strong.”
Former lawmaker Ryu attracted attention by revealing that he has been learning woodworking skills after leaving the political world. Since then, he has been sharing his life as a carpenter working in interior construction and solid wood furniture manufacturing through social media. Ryu Hojung Facebook
