Shin Ji-ae 3rd... Lilia Vu "Second Major Win"
AIG Women's Open 4R 2 Under Par 'Strong Performance'
Bu's 6-Stroke Victory... Third Win of the Season
Kim Hyoju and Yang Heeyoung Tied 4th, Korda 11th
This is the prowess of veteran Shin Ji-ae.
On the 13th (local time), at Walton Heath Golf Club in Surrey, England (par 72, 6,881 yards), she added 2 under par in the 4th round of the final major tournament of the 2023 LPGA Tour season, the AIG Women's Open (total prize money $9 million), finishing 3rd (7 under par, 281 strokes). Following a tie for 2nd place at last month's US Women's Open, this marks her second top-3 finish in a major this season. Shin Ji-ae is known as a "Links Course specialist," having won this tournament in 2008 and 2012.

Starting from a tie for 7th place, 4 strokes behind, Shin Ji-ae made 3 birdies (1 bogey). After recovering from a bogey on the 4th hole (par 4) with a birdie on the 6th hole (par 5), she secured "stepping stone birdies" on the 14th and 16th holes. Her precise tee shots, missing the fairway only twice, were the driving force. Shin Ji-ae debuted on the LPGA Tour in 2009 and has accumulated 11 wins, including 2 majors. Since 2014, she has been primarily active in Japan.
Lilia Vu (USA) surged with 5 under par to complete a commanding 6-stroke victory (14 under par, 274 strokes). This is her third win of the season in four months, following the Honda LPGA Thailand in February and the major Chevron Championship in April. The winner's prize money is $1.35 million (approximately 1.8 billion KRW). Charlie Hull (England), playing on her home course, lost one stroke and settled for runner-up (8 under par, 280 strokes).
