Motrex Signs MOU with Autocrypt to Strengthen Mobility Cybersecurity
IVI specialist company Motrex announced on the 10th that it has signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) for 'automotive cybersecurity business cooperation' with automotive cybersecurity specialist company Autocrypt.
Autocrypt is a provider of total mobility security solutions including In-Vehicle Security (IVS), Vehicle-to-Grid communication (V2G), and Vehicle-to-Everything communication (V2X). It actively collaborates with global automakers and parts companies to provide security solutions optimized for automotive communication protocols throughout all stages from vehicle design, production, to sales.
Through this MOU, Motrex aims to secure cybersecurity technology capable of responding to the UNECE WP.29 regulations adopted in June 2020 by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe’s World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations. The UNECE WP.29 vehicle cybersecurity regulation has been mandatory for new cars produced in Europe since July last year and will apply to all vehicles in Europe starting July 2024.
Along with the legalization of vehicle cybersecurity and the accelerated technological evolution toward Software-Defined Vehicles (SDV), Motrex plans to apply cybersecurity technology to all products it manufactures. Through technical cooperation with Autocrypt, it plans to strengthen the application of security technologies including compliance with European cybersecurity regulations.
Additionally, Motrex will solidify cybersecurity technology cooperation in the electric vehicle charging sector, including vehicle-to-grid communication, through its security technology partnership with Autocrypt.
