Seoul Shilla Hotel 'Ariake' Presents Nutritious Gala Dinner for Malbok
Seoul Shilla Hotel announced on the 7th that it will host a health-boosting gala dinner featuring the master of Japanese Kaiseki cuisine, Chef Nozaki Hiromitsu (野崎洋光), on August 10 and 11, the days of Malbok (the last of the three hottest days in summer).
The gala dinner presented by Chef Nozaki Hiromitsu features a refined and delicate "11-course Kaiseki" menu wishing for good health during the summer season. Kaiseki is a traditional Japanese banquet-style course meal where various dishes are served sequentially in small bowls.
At this event, guests can enjoy a variety of summer seasonal health-boosting ingredients such as domestic eel, sweetfish, cutlassfish, abalone, and sea urchin roe. The menu includes five types of appetizers, five types of pancakes, seasonal sashimi, eel dishes, grilled abalone with seaweed, grilled lobster with miso, and sea urchin rice cooked in a pot, among other preparations. Each dish embodies the unique and delicate cooking techniques of Chef Nozaki, a master of Japanese Kaiseki.
In the past, Seoul Shilla Hotel invited Chef Nozaki to hold gala dinners seven times until 2020, but the events were suspended for three years due to COVID-19 and have resumed this year.
Chef Nozaki Hiromitsu, invited to this event, is the owner-chef of the traditional Kaiseki specialty restaurant "Wakedokuyama." The "Wakedokuyama" restaurant opened in 1989 in Nishi-Azabu, a high-end dining district in Tokyo. It offers Japanese formal dining that highlights the natural flavors of ingredients and was awarded two Michelin stars for eight consecutive years starting in 2010.
