Bitgoeul 50+ Center, Middle-aged Group Gathers to Ensure Safety on Mudeungsan Mountain Hike
Gwangju Bitgoeul 50+ Center recently signed a business agreement with the Mudeungsan Management Office of the Korea National Park Service, and middle-aged citizens have been deployed to Mudeungsan to help prevent disaster safety accidents among hikers, working hard under the hot sun.
Bitgoeul 50+ Center announced on the 4th that it recruited 50 healthy middle-aged participants, including mountaineers among Gwangju citizens, as participants in the Bitgoeul 50+ job project and assigned them to disaster safety vulnerable areas on the Mudeungsan hiking trails.
They are working hard alongside safety patrol officers from the Mudeungsan Management Office to guide hikers safely, maintain a rapid response system for emergencies, and prevent casualties.
In particular, they are contributing to thoroughly protecting the safety of citizens visiting the mountains and valleys for summer vacations, as well as visitors from other regions coming to Mudeungsan.
Jung Chan-gi, head of Bitgoeul 50+ Center, who has experience serving in a special forces unit with mountains as the main stage in the first act of his life, knows better than anyone the safety risks that can occur in the mountains during the hot season. Therefore, he visited the site to encourage participants and urge the middle-aged members of the Mudeungsan Disaster Safety Support Group participating in the 50+ Center jobs to perform their safety duties without health issues caused by the heatwave.

A center official said, "We will station the Mudeungsan Disaster Safety Support Group operated by Bitgoeul 50+ Center at Mudeungsan until this winter to devote ourselves to the role of guardians protecting the safety of hikers," adding, "In case of physical abnormalities or emergencies during hiking, please promptly request help from the nearby Bitgoeul 50+ Center’s Disaster Safety Support Group to ensure a safe hike."
