與 "LH, Will Restructure to the Level of Dismantling to Meet Common Sense Standards"
First Meeting of the Apartment Defective Construction Investigation TF on the 4th
The People Power Party stated that it will "align with the standards of fairness and common sense pursued by the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, even if it requires restructuring at a dismantling level," regarding LH (Korea Land and Housing Corporation), where poor construction such as missing rebar was revealed.
On the 4th, the People Power Party awarded appointment letters to the members of the 'Apartment Flat Slab Poor Construction Fact-Finding and Public Safety Task Force (TF)' and held its first meeting. At this meeting, Representative Kim Jeong-jae, who serves as the TF chairman, said, "If there is anyone who tries to fill their pockets at the expense of the lives and property of the people, or if such practices are repeatedly occurring as rotten customs in the construction industry, we will boldly cut them out and correct them by exercising all the powers of the government and ruling party."
Regarding the recently controversial poor construction of flat slab work, Representative Kim pointed out, "It could be a typical case of poor construction due to safety negligence, or it could be malicious poor construction by contractors blinded by profit." He added, "It could also be a collusion of an interest cartel where design, construction, and supervision are united to overlook such poor construction. If there was even a hint of intentionality, it would be no different from a clear criminal act."
Floor leader Yoon Jae-ok also said, "The flat slab method itself is said to have no problem. The root cause lies not in the construction method but in the interest cartel of the construction industry, stained by decades of safety negligence and corruption." He added, "We will do our best to accurately identify the facts of poor construction, alleviate public anxiety, and resolve potential collapse concerns."
The People Power Party also plans to accelerate the passage of the 'Five Laws for Normalizing Construction Sites,' including the Construction Industry Basic Act, Judicial Police Duties Act, Employment Procedure Act, and Labor Union Act. After the meeting, Representative Kim explained to reporters regarding criticisms that these five laws are "crackdowns on labor unions," saying, "These laws are not to suppress workers but to eradicate the deep-rooted problems of poor construction in this case."
