Choi Eun-young's Novel 'Even with a Very Faint Light' Ranks Immediately Upon Release
In the Yes24 comprehensive bestseller list for the first week of August, "The Teachings of Seino," which successfully reclaimed the top spot, held the number one position for the second consecutive week. Yoo Si-min's "Science Study for Humanities Men," where scientific thinking intersects with humanistic reflection, rose one spot from third place last week to second place, and the limited edition recover edition of the Fu Bao growth essay, "Baby Panda Fu Bao," took third place. Following them, the original manga of the popular animation "Favorite Child 11" and "Stolen Concentration," which deals with the 'concentration crisis' in modern society, maintained their positions at fourth and fifth place, respectively, same as the previous week.
This week, new releases in various fields such as novels/poetry/plays and children's books entered the top 20. The third novel collection by author Choi Eun-young, who gained attention with "Shoko's Smile" and "Bright Night," titled "Even with a Very Faint Light," immediately reached 15th place overall upon publication.
The new children's series by Heunhan Nam-mae, combining chilling horror and humor, "Heunhan Nam-mae Imugi 1," ranked 17th overall. The elementary school study book "Smart Elementary Newspaper Starting at Age Nine" ranked 13th overall on Yes24 and first in the children's category. This study book, based on the concept of a 'newspaper optimized for elementary students,' selects major recent news articles and reconstructs them at a child's level. Since its release in April, it recorded about a 340% sales growth rate in May compared to the previous month, and sales have continued to rise steadily, maintaining its popularity.
