Park Dae-chul "From Kim Eun-kyung to Yang Yi-won-young... The Together Party of Nonsense"
In response to Kim Eun-kyung, the Innovation Committee Chair of the Democratic Party of Korea, facing controversy over 'elderly disparagement,' Democratic Party lawmaker Yang Yi-won-young defended Kim's remarks by saying, "Many of those voting now will not even be alive in that future." Park Dae-chul, the Policy Committee Chair of the People Power Party, criticized this, stating that it "adds insult to injury."
On the 1st, Park posted on his social media, "Is it now the 'Together Insult Party'? The defense of the elderly disparagement remark calling them 'people with a short future' was compounded by the insult that 'those voting now will not be alive in the future,'" criticizing the remarks.
On the afternoon of the 20th, Park Dae-chul, the Policy Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, visited the 3rd Division Baekgol Unit in Cheorwon to explain the background and budget securing related to the improvement of the cold-weather combat clothing system. Lawmaker Yang defended Kim, saying that reading the full remarks shows it was not disparagement of the elderly but rather support for youth politics.
In response, Park said, "I am at a loss for words at this unfilial politics that treats life lightly. If you are wrong, you should apologize a hundred times and resolve the issue, but instead, the perpetrator is making the situation irreparable," adding, "Using even a middle school son as a political subject shows heartlessness, the anti-civilizational idea of calculating the value of a vote by human lifespan, and divisive politics that split by wealth (貧富), labor and management (勞使), and age (老少).
