Gwangju University, Diligently Training Regional Specialized Young Trade Experts
The Gwangju University Regional Specialized Youth Trade Expert Training Project Group recently announced on the 1st that it participated in Japan's largest lifestyle comprehensive consumer goods exhibition, 'LIFESTYLE Week TOKYO.'
Since 2007, Gwangju University has been participating in the GTEP (Glocal Trade Expert Incubating Program) project for 17 years with the support of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Korea International Trade Association, and Gwangju Metropolitan City, cultivating glocal marketing and practical experts who can be immediately deployed on-site.
In particular, through specialized education programs such as international e-commerce, overseas internship programs, and interpretation services at overseas exhibitions, it has played a leading role in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises and contributing to regional economic development.
The 'LIFESTYLE Week TOKYO Exhibition,' which involved 9 professors and students from Gwangju University, was held on a scale 1.5 times larger than last year, featuring 9 exhibition halls related to gifts, stationery, infants, and fashion, with about 1,000 participating companies.
At this exhibition, the GTEP project group worked with three Gwangju-based companies?Selfit Co., Ltd., Jeongrinne Co., Ltd., and Mekaline?providing interpretation, buyer consultations, exhibition support, follow-up management, and online platform construction support for companies such as Stec Up Co., Ltd. Additionally, they visited Yokohama National University, toured the laboratory of Professor Takeda's Functional Expression Engineering research team, and held discussions on ▲overseas internship programs ▲joint international research.
Professor Ji-Hwan Baek (Department of Food and Nutrition), who participated in the exhibition as an advisor, said, "The Gwangju University GTEP project group participates from the exhibition planning stage with local companies, jointly carries out exhibition activities and interpretation, and supports post-exhibition report writing and online platform promotion. By accumulating field-centered practical experience and expertise and supporting exports, it is establishing a good glocal model through win-win cooperation with regional companies."
