Resuming Currency Exchange and Supply Operations After Remodeling Completed, First Time in 6 Years
The Bank of Korea will resume currency supply and exchange operations at its Myeongdong headquarters for the first time in six years.
On the 30th, the Bank of Korea announced that starting from the 8th of next month, it will restart currency exchange services for the public and currency supply operations with financial institutions at the Myeongdong headquarters.
Due to the remodeling of the headquarters and reconstruction of the integrated annex in 2017, the Bank of Korea's Issuance Department temporarily relocated to the Gangnam headquarters in May 2017, where it has been conducting currency exchange and supply operations.

The remodeling work at the Myeongdong headquarters was completed last March. Accordingly, the Bank of Korea's Issuance Department will move back to the remodeled headquarters' underground vault and conduct tests on newly introduced issuance-related equipment on August 2nd, and plans to resume currency exchange and supply operations from the 8th. The Gangnam headquarters will continue to carry out related operations as well.
