Measures to Prevent Recurrence Also Considered to Create a 'Safe and Comfortable Living Environment'
Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) is making every effort to quickly restore damage by mobilizing all available resources after recording an average cumulative rainfall of 272.5mm in the area due to heavy rain that lasted for three days starting from the 22nd.
According to the county on the 26th, Governor Kim San toured the damage sites on the 25th, including the sediment outflow site at Seongpo Reservoir in Daecheon Village, Haeje, flooded farmland around 1080, Sinhak-ri, Muan-eup, households affected by flooding in Pyeongwol Village, Muan-eup, and sediment outflow at a house in Seongnae-ri, Unnam-myeon, encouraging emergency restoration workers and urging swift recovery.

View original imageTo assess the damage caused by the heavy rain from the 22nd to the 24th, Muan-gun dispatched all public officials to their assigned villages for two days on the 24th and 25th to confirm damage surveys and support emergency restoration.
As of 5 p.m. on the 25th, the reported damage cases from the heavy rain totaled 146, including 61 flood cases (24 houses, 15 farmlands, 11 roads, etc.), 41 sediment cases (15 drainage channels, 12 roads, etc.), 33 facility cases (9 rivers, 6 fences, 5 roads, etc.), 11 other cases (9 fallen trees, 1 sinkhole, 1 rockfall), and 200 hectares of flooded farmland, with no casualties.
As of this day, the emergency restoration rate is 84.2%, with 123 out of 146 cases addressed, including 61 flood cases, 30 sediment cases, 21 facility damages, and 11 others. The remaining 23 cases (11 sediment, 12 facilities) are planned to be restored as soon as possible.
Governor Kim San stated, “We plan to promptly complete emergency restoration by mobilizing all available resources, including contingency funds, and prevent additional flood damage. We will do our best not only to help the victims quickly return to their daily lives but also to prepare measures to prevent recurrence.”
