To reinforce public service discipline that may loosen during the summer vacation season
Deputy Mayor Kim Seonsu of Yongsan-gu conducted a special integrity education session on the 19th for over 500 employees ahead of the summer vacation season.
Deputy Mayor Kim delivered two lectures at 2 PM and 4 PM at the Yongsan Art Hall Small Theater to reinforce public service discipline that could become lax during the vacation period.
As a senior public official, he gave a vivid lecture centered on his own experiences and cases, covering ▲the meaning of public service and integrity ▲how to become a dignified public official ▲the necessity of proactive administration ▲guidance on various types of public service misconduct cases for juniors.
Having served in public office for over 30 years, he personally prepared the educational content to help employees understand and practice integrity more easily and familiarly.
Deputy Mayor Kim Seonsu said, “I wanted to share the core know-how to wisely navigate public service life,” adding, “Above all, I took on this lecture hoping that employees would not get involved in any unfortunate incidents amid the chaotic atmosphere of the vacation season.”
Before joining Yongsan-gu, Deputy Mayor Kim gained diverse practical experience across public service by holding various positions in Seoul City, including Organization Officer, Personnel Director, and Housing Policy Director.
Park Heeyoung, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, said, “Although busy with various issues, integrity is the top priority in public service, so I asked the Deputy Mayor to personally take on the instructor role,” and added, “This education will greatly help employees grow into dignified and wise public officials.”

Meanwhile, the district achieved the highest grade, Grade 1, in the ‘2022 Comprehensive Integrity Evaluation of Public Institutions’ conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission. This year, it continues to promote various integrity policies such as integrity education for newly appointed public officials and self-learning on integrity.
