Following last year’s successful first overseas export to China by the Imsil Cheese Agricultural Cooperative, this marks the expansion of the second overseas export route.
This is a valuable achievement by the small-scale company Dumari Farm, and the product being exported this time is Dumari Farm’s flagship product, ‘Yogurt.’
The ‘ImsilN Cheese Yogurt,’ with an annual export contract of 100,000 units, was developed to suit the taste of East Asians and is expected to captivate the palates of Hong Kong consumers, leading to success.
The exports will be sold at 20 major stores in key cities across Hong Kong through the global distribution company Han In-hong.
Dumari Farm has become a cheese manufacturer recognized worldwide, with its flagship product ‘Halloumi Cheese’ winning second place at the International Food and Beverage Awards held in Belgium this year.
Additionally, to enter overseas markets, the company has steadily prepared by obtaining ISO22000 Food Safety Management System certification in 2019.
ISO22000 is an international certification system for food safety management systems, officially proving that companies worldwide operate under the same designated regulations.
Dumari Farm aims to expand overseas starting with yogurt and then cheese.
The county has supported Dumari Farm’s growth as a representative dairy company of Imsil-gun through various projects, including product development and reinforcement of the cheese aging room.
The cheese industry in Imsil-gun, which was initiated by the late Father Ji Jeong-hwan who first developed cheese in South Korea, is based on raw milk produced from 55 dairy farms and about 4,000 dairy cows.
Using fresh first-grade raw milk from 12 ranch-style dairy processing plants, including the Imsil Cheese Agricultural Cooperative, the milk undergoes pasteurization to produce the freshest cheese and dairy products, manufacturing 1% of Korea’s eco-friendly high-quality cheese.
Shim Min, the county governor, said, “We hope that ImsilN Cheese will become a global brand through its export to Asia,” and added, “We will strive for the globalization of ImsilN Cheese by continuously securing overseas markets.”
