Prime Minister Han Duck-soo evaluated that "(with the separate collection of subscription fees) the public will clearly recognize the fact of paying the subscription fee, and their interest and sense of rights will increase."
On the 11th, Prime Minister Han stated at the Cabinet meeting held at the Government Seoul Office, "Until now, television broadcast subscription fees have been included in the electricity bill. From now on, subscription fees will be notified and collected separately from the electricity bill."
At the Cabinet meeting that day, the amendment to the Enforcement Decree of the Broadcasting Act to separately collect KBS subscription fees is expected to be approved. After President Yoon Suk-yeol's approval, it is likely to be promulgated as early as the 12th. The Korea Communications Commission plans to implement the law immediately from the day the decree is promulgated.

Prime Minister Han said, "The separate collection of subscription fees started from the voices of the public pointing out problems with the current payment method," and added, "The government will continue to listen carefully to inconveniences or unreasonable issues in the daily lives of the people and will not neglect efforts to correct them."
