Fair Trade Commission Issues Corrective Order to Yangilsangsa for Restricting Home Appliance Prices
The Fair Trade Commission issued a corrective order to Yangil Sangsa for preventing the sale of household appliances at low prices.
According to the Fair Trade Commission on the 11th, Yangil Sangsa set minimum prices for humidifiers, fans, and other products from early 2020 until last February, prohibiting its distributors from selling below those prices. Distributors who did not comply with the standards faced disadvantages such as suspension of product supply.

The Fair Trade Commission regarded this act as a 'resale price maintenance practice' under the Fair Trade Act and ordered correction. The Commission stated, "We will continuously monitor unfair practices that restrict competition by taking advantage of rising prices and will impose strict sanctions if violations are detected."
