The newly introduced ‘Midsummer Night Pilates’ is a lifestyle sports program designed for female office workers and students.
It offers a unique experience of enjoying exercise and relaxation in an open outdoor space. Pilates is expected to gain high popularity as it is effective for posture correction and muscle strengthening.
The exercise sessions take place at the waterside stage of Ttukseom Hangang Park. Scheduled in the evening to allow easy participation after work or study, the classes are held every Thursday from 7:30 PM for one hour, teaching various movements. After pre-registration, participants can attend the class for free by bringing their own yoga mat.
The classes run for a total of five sessions from the 20th of this month to August 17th, led by a professional instructor with over 10 years of experience. The program includes the fundamental thoracic breathing technique, upper and lower body stretching, core (abdominal) exercises, and full-body strength training, all composed of easy movements that beginners can follow.
The target participants are women aged 20 to 40 residing in Gwangjin-gu, with 30 people accepted per session on a first-come, first-served basis.
Registration is open from the 10th to the 14th of this month, and those interested can apply online through the Gwangjin-gu website.
