CJ Group, Personal Information and Photos of Female Employees Leaked via Telegram
"Confirmed Not to Be Hacking... Will Disclose Transparently After Thorough Verification"
It has been confirmed that the personal information of female employees at CJ Group was leaked through a Telegram channel. The leak includes both current and former employees, raising concerns about the possibility of secondary damage.
According to industry sources on May 18, the channel posted mobile phone numbers, job titles, internal phone numbers, email addresses, and photos of approximately 330 female employees of CJ Group. The channel was reportedly created in 2023.
The leaked photos are said to be screenshots of images posted on platforms such as KakaoTalk. CJ Group is focusing on the possibility that the data was leaked through internal access to employee profiles, rather than through external hacking, and has begun investigating the circumstances.
A CJ Group representative stated, "We are currently verifying the exact facts. We have confirmed that it was not a hacking incident, and we plan to transparently disclose the results after clarifying who the insider is, what the motive was, and whether there has been any secondary damage."
