The seminar titled "Chemical Substance Risk Assessment Based on MSDS" was held at 10 a.m. on the 6th at KINTEX in Ilsan, hosted by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (Chairman An Jong-ju) and organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor (Minister Lee Jeong-sik) as part of the "2023 Industrial Safety and Health Month" event.
Recently, systematic management of chemical substances has become necessary due to consecutive acute poisoning incidents involving cleaning agents and others.
The event was an opportunity to share methods for understanding and approaching chemical substance risk assessment based on MSDS, which can be considered the starting point for identifying and managing information on chemical substances handled in workplaces.

Shim Woo-seop, head of the Chemical Accident Prevention Division at the Ministry of Employment and Labor, stated, "This seminar emphasized the need to establish a system that enables workplaces to manage hazardous or dangerous chemical substances on their own," adding, "It is essential to identify and manage potential risk factors in advance at the site to reduce industrial accidents."
